- The applicant must be below the age of 40 years (for men) and for women, the age limit is 45 years.
- The applicant must hold a master’s degree plus 2 years of experience/Ph.D. in plant breeding and genetics.

For Junior Research Fellowship
- The applicant must hold a B.Sc degree in Agriculture Biotechnology/Biotechnology/Microbiology.
