JoSAA 2020 Joint Seat Allocation Authority( JoSAA) was constituted by the Ministry of Human Resource Development to manage the seat allocation into various colleges . It is responsible for seat allocation to candidates who qualify JEE Main 2020 and JEE Advanced 2020.
After the release of the JEE result Candidates should get familiar with the JEE counselling process . Aspirants who seeking admission through JoSAA Counselling should be very careful during the registration and choice filling. Here is the complete details regarding the JoSAA counselling.
JoSAA Counselling 2020 Important Dates
This includes 23 IITs, 31 NITs, 23 IIITs & other Government Funded Technical Institutes. Admissions to all academic programs offered by these Institutes will be made through a single platform.These dates are tentative***

JEE Main Counselling 2020: Steps Students Should Know
The registration and choice filling should be done very carefully by the students . The below 5 steps will help candidates to land at the institutes’ doors.

Step-1: Registration : The registration is the first step and candidates who have appeared in JEE Main are eligible for seat allocation in NIT+ system. Candidates who have qualified in JEE Advanced are only eligible to register for the seat allocation in all participating institutes.
Step-2: Choice Filling : After registration, Candidates have to choose the choices based on their eligibility.
Step-3: Locking Of Choices: Candidates should lock their choices after filling them in. If they do not lock the choices, the last-saved choices will be locked automatically.
Step-4: Number Of Rounds Of Seat Allocation : The JoSAA counselling will be conducted in seven rounds. For every round, the document verification and acceptance/withdrawal of seat will be done.
Step-5: Seat Acceptance Candidates will be allotted a seat in this round. One must download their Provisional Allotment Letter. Candidates should pay the seat acceptance fee through the SBI e-Challan/SBI Net Banking/SBI Debit Cards for provisional seat acceptance. Candidates who are not satisfied with the allotted seat can go for the following options :
- Floating: This option is for the candidates, who accept the offered seat but look for up-gradation to get admissions in better Institute & Course.
- Freezing: This option is to the candidates, who accept the allotted seat and does not like to participate in further rounds.
- Sliding: If this option used, it will mean that candidates have accepted the allotted seat, however, if admissions are open in a better course in the same institute then he/she will go for up-gradation.
