West Bengal Minorities Development and Finance Corporation has invited applications for West Bengal Post Matric Scholarship 2020-21 from minority students of West Bengal studying in Class 11 to Ph.D. The scholarship aims to motivate financially-deprived and meritorious students to pursue higher studies. It will help them achieve their dreams and pursue their higher studies easily without any hurdle.
What Is The Last Date To Apply For The Scholarship?
The last date to apply for the scholarship is 15 November 2020. Students are advised to apply for the scholarship as soon as possible as the last date to apply is arriving very soon.

What Is The Eligibility To Apply?
The eligibility to apply is given below
- The applicant must be a domicile of West Bengal
- Applicant must be studying in a school or institution which is affiliated with a council/Educational Board/the University of State or Central Government.
- The applicant must score 50 percent marks or equivalent in the last qualifying examination.
- The applicant must have a family income of not more than INR 2 Lakh per annum.
- The applicant must belong to the minority section of West Bengal.
Note: Students pursuing their studies in institutes outside West Bengal are not eligible for this scholarship.
What Are The Benefits Of This Scholarship?
For General course students class 11 and 12th
For day scholars
The admission and tuition fee will be given as INR 7,700 and the maintenance allowance will be provided as Rs 2,500.

For Hostellers
The admission fee and tuition fee will be Rs 7,700 and the maintenance allowance will be Rs 4,200.
Technical and Vocational Course Students in class 11 and 12th
For Day Scholars
The admission fee and the tuition fee will be provided as Rs 11,000.
The maintenance allowance will be provided as Rs 2500.
For Hostellers
The admission fee and the tuition fee will be provided as Rs 11,000.
The maintenance allowance will be provided as Rs 4,200.
For Undergraduate and Post Graduate Students
For Day Scholars
The admission and tuition fees will be provided as Rs 3,300.
The maintenance allowance will be provided as Rs 3,300.
For Hostellers
The admission fee and the tuition fee will be provided as INR 3,300
The maintenance allowance will be provided as INR 6,300.
M.Phil and Ph.D. Students
For Day Scholars
The admission and tuition fee will be provided as INR 3,300 and the maintenance allowance will be provided as INR 6,000.
For Hostellers
The admission and tuition fee will be provided as INR 3,300 and the maintenance allowance will be provided as INR 13,200.
What Are The Documents Necessary To Apply?
The applicant needs to provide the photocopy of the bank passbook containing the bank account number and IFS code while submitting the hard copy of the completed application form.
How Can You Apply For The Scholarship?
Go to the official website http://wbmdfcscholarshipgov.in/main/guidelines. Click on the registration. Select the district where the applicant’s institute is situated and click on proceed. Fill in the required details under the student information and scheme eligibility sections. Click on submit and proceed. Note down the user ID as displayed on the screen. Login using the registered user ID and password. Fill the required information under the ‘Basic Information’, ‘Academic Information’, ‘Bank Account Details’ section. Verify and lock the application. Print and submit the application form along with the required documents to the concerned institute.

Selection Procedure
Scholarships will be provided to eligible students in order of merit and subject to the budgetary allocation provided by the state government. For renewal, the applicant will be eligible for the scholarship if he/she has obtained 50 percent marks in his/her previous examination.
The scholarship amount will be credited to the student’s bank account through Direct Benefit Transfer mode.
The maintenance allowance will be provided for only 10 months in an academic calendar.
Students applying for this scholarship should fulfill the attendance criteria of the institute in which they are enrolled.
