The Institute of Company Secretaries of India, constituted under the Company Secretaries Act, 1980, is a government recognized body that is responsible to make Company Secretaries in India.
There are three levels present of which one has to appear for three exams:
- Foundation Programme
- Executive Programme
- Professional Programme
Every applicant, who passes in Professional Programme Examination in addition to acquiring practical experience, will be required to undergo compulsory practical training for four months.

ICSI Eligibility Criteria 2021
- Now CSEET will be a compulsory qualifying test for all categories of students for registration in the Executive programme.
- The candidate’s age must not be less than 17 years on the date of filling of application form.
- Graduate/Post Graduate students who are eligible for registrating directly to the Executive Programme also need to qualify CSEET to become eligible for registration to Executive Programme.
The following categories are exempted from qualifying CSEET and can get register directly to the Executive Programme:

|ICAI (The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India) final course passed students
|Exemption Fee: Rs 5000
|ICMAI (The Institute of Cost Accountants of India) final course

Qualifying Cut off
Candidates need to secure an aggregate of 50% and minimum 40% in each subject in CSEET.
Professional Programme is the final level in Company Secretaryship. Candidates who have cleared their Foundation and Executive Programmes are eligible to undertake Professional Programme.
The candidate is supposed to register for the Professional Programme nine months before to the month in which the examination starts for being successfully admitted in the program.
Students registered six months prior to the examination month may be allowed to appear in any one or two module(s) of the Professional Programme.
Students must have undergone postal or oral tuition for the modules in which he/she intends to appear in the examination.

How to register for ICSI CS Entrance Test?
Step 1: Visit the official website icsi.edu
Step 2: Click on ‘Online Services’
Step 3: Click on the drop-down option and select the desired exam.
Step 4: Check the required boxes and move to ‘Proceed to CSEET 2021 registration’
Step 5: Candidates need to fill the basic details
Step 6: Enter the fee details
Step 7: Upload mandatory documents
Step 8: Preview the application form
Step 9: Click on ‘Confirm Application’ button after previewing
Step 10: Select payment mode and proceed.
Step 11: Transaction ID is generated

Ans Visit the official site of ICSI on icsi.edu. Click on the online services link available on the home page. A new page will open where candidates can login to the account by using the registration details. Fill in the application form and submit it.
Ans “The Foundation Programme of CS Course stands discontinued,” said ICSI in a notification available on its website. Instead, it has introduced CS Executive Entrance Test (CSEET), a mandatory qualifying test for all categories of students for registration to Executive Programme.
Ans Candidates must have passed the CSEET (CS Executive Entrance Test) for registration to CS Executive Programme. Candidates who have completed Class 12 examinations and hold a graduate or postgraduate degree are eligible for CSEET.

Ans CS is much easier as compared to CA which has been referred to the toughest course in India. The CA course is easy to enter but tough to exit. While the CS is also not easy but not as tough as CA. Company Secretaries are held responsible to operate the company within the terms of Company Law.
