Indian Economic Service is the administrative ministerial civil service of the Central Civil Services of the executive branch of the Government of India. A competitive exam for recruitment to Junior Time Scale of the Services will be held by the Union Public Service Commission in co-ordination with the rules published by the Ministry of Statistics Implementation in India.

Documents required
Applicant should have details of one Photo ID Card via Aadhaar Card/ Voter Card/PAN Card/Passport or Any other Photo ID Card issued by the State/Central Government. The details of this Photo ID Card will have to be provided by the candidate while filling up the online application form. Applicants have to upload a scanned copy of the same Photo ID.
Student should make sure to carry this photo id at the time of appearance at the examination.

Eligibility Criteria of IES AND ISS Examination:
A student must be either:
(a) should be a Citizen of India,
(b) should be a subject of Nepal,
(c) should be a subject of Bhutan,
(d) should be a Tibetan refugee
(e) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka or East African Countries, Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, and Ethiopia with the intention of permanently settling in India.
Qualification:
1. For Indian Economic Service (IES): The applicants must have obtained a Post Graduate Degree in Economics/Applied Economics/Business Economics/Econometrics from a recognized university or a foreign university approved by the Central Government of India.
2. For Indian Statistical Service (ISS): The applicants must have obtained a Bachelor’s Degree with Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics as one of the subject or else the candidates should hold a Master’s degree in Statistics/Mathematical Statistics/Applied Statistics from a recognized university or a foreign university approved by the Central Government of India from time to time. 3. Age Limit : applicants must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years as on August 1, 2020.
