Every year the ICAR(Indian Council of Agricultural Research) conducts the national level entrance examination. It enables candidates to get admission in Bachelor of Agriculture degree and study across various Agricultural colleges in India. Similarly under graduates who have completed the Bachelors degree can write the entrance exam for Masters programme in various subjects among the field as per their interests. The National Testing Agency(NTA) conducts the exam every year.Thousands of students across the nation compete to get a seat in various top renowned institutes of the country.The exam is conducted once every month in online mode.

Preparation for ICAR AIEEA: tips & strategies

Every year the number of candidates taking the exam increases.Under the ICAR aieea examination 15% of the seats from each accredited university is filled by the candidates who qualify the examination. It is very mush important to start preparing for the exam ahead of time.

• Time management – It is very important to adjust well with the time.The UG exam is conducted for 720 marks and time duration is 2 hours and 30 minutes .So it isa indeed a tough challenge to complete the paper in time.
• Stay focused – In order to score well,candidates have to focus only in their exam preparation now onwards.

• Books – There are a number of books available at online sites from where candidates can get books. It is very important to refer as much as books as possible to get overall guidance.
• Practicing MCQs – Since the exams are mainly MCQ based,candidates must keep in practicing more MCQs in limited time to adjust with timings.

• Knowing the marking scheme – For every correct answer 4 marks is given and for every wrong answer -1 is deducted.Candidates must jeep in mind while answering the questions.
• Preparing a timetable – It is important to maintain a exam strategy. then only targets will be fulfilled.weekly targets should be made to complete chapters,do mcqs etc.
• Mock tests – Some sites are available online which provides year round mock tests for ICAR related exams.Students can join them and give tests which will increase their efficiency.

Icar exam pattern:

ICAR UG exam pattern :

• The total NUMBER Of questions will be 180.
• Four marks will be awarded for each correct answer.
• One mark will be deducted as negative marks for each wrong answer.
• The question type will be as multiple choice questions with four option for each item.
• Breakage of marks subject-wise:

• The total marks will be 720.
• The medium of paper will be in English and hindi.
• Time duration is 2 hours 30 minutes.

PG exam pattern:

• The total marks is 650.
• A majority of the questions comes from the major subject chosen by the candidate during form filling.
• A section of questions will be based on general agriculture related topics as well.
• Total number of questions is 160.
• Time duration is 2 hours.
• One mark will be deducted as negative marks for each wrong answer.
• The question type will be as multiple choice questions with four option for each item.
