No, NEET will be held once a year and in offline mode only. This has been officially announced by NTA.
The lower age limit to apply for NEET is 17 years. However, the upper age limit to appear for NEET remains a dilemma. This is because, in the year 2019, NTA announced that the upper age limit to appear for NEET is 25 years. However, the upper age limit was eliminated by the supreme court of India and the candidates above 25 years of age were allowed to apply for NEET, until any further notice by SC. The elimination of the upper age limit is an interim order. The case is still in court. So whether or not in 2020 there is an upper age limit will be cleared with the release of the NEET 2020 Information Brochure.
The candidates have to attempt a total of 180 questions of a total of 720 marks. Each question carries 4 marks and there is a negative marking of 1 marks for any wrong answer marked. The questions will be asked from Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. All the questions are MCQ type. From Physics and Chemistry, there will be 45 questions each and from Biology there will be 90 questions.
The NEET syllabus contains topics from class 11 and 12 Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics. The syllabus has been defined by MCI and the same is made available with the information brochure of NEET.
Self-study requires a lot of self-motivation as well. The preparation for NEET 2020 can be a tedious task thus making a pragmatic time-table to study through can be very helpful. Keeping a close tab on the mistakes done and improvements can prove to be beneficial. Making notes after concluding a chapter will allow to you revise the important topics and retain it for longer.
NCERT is without a doubt the best source to learn Biology. The text of NCERT diagrams & their labelling, table’s & their data should be learnt & memorised in thoroughly. Students should essentially go through exemplars provided by CBSE/NCERT for question practice.
As per the latest notification, NEET 2020 will be conducted in pen and paper-based (offline) mode.
The official notice released by NTA reflects the fact that NEET will be conducted once in the year 2020 on May 3. There has been no notification which suggests that NEET 2020 will be conducted twice a year.
