Neet Syllabus 2020– The detailed NEET 2020 syllabus will be released by NTA along with the information brochure on December 2, 2019. Medical aspirants have to be conversant with the syllabus of NEET 2020 if they wish to crack the exam successfully. Preparation therefore must start with a good idea of the NEET syllabus 2020 for Physics, Chemistry and Biology (Zoology and Botany) which is on par with class 11 and 12 syllabi for the same.

It is to be understood that NEET question papers will be on the basis of the MCI notified common syllabus of NEET available at mciindia.org and implemented in the year 2013. NEET eligibility criteria 2020

The National Testing Agency has prescribed the eligibility criteria for NEET 2020. All those who wish to apply for the entrance test are advised to check if they fit into the criteria specified by NTA.

Nationality:

ADVERTISEMENT
  • Indian Nationals,
  • Non-Resident Indians (NRIs)
  • Overseas Citizen of India (OCI)
  • Persons with Indian Origin (PIO)
  • Foreign Nationals

Age Limit:

  • The minimum age of a candidate as on December 31, 2020, should be 17 years
  • The rule specifying the maximum age limit of the candidate was scraped off last year. Thus there is no upper age limit for the candidates applying for NEET 2020.

Minimum qualification:

  • Candidate must have cleared Class XII or equivalent from a recognized institute
  • Candidates who are appearing for Class XII or equivalent in summer 2020 can also apply for NEET 2020.
  • Candidates who have completed Class XII or equivalent from an open school are also eligible

Mandatory subjects:

  • Candidate must have cleared Class XII or equivalent with Physics, Chemistry and Biology.
  • Candidates who have passed Class XII or equivalent with Biology as an additional subject are also eligible

Minimum marks required in the qualifying examination:

  • General category 50%
  • PWD category 45%
  • SC/ST/OBC 40%

NEET 2020 admission process

The application form for NEET 2020 will be released on December 2, 2019. The application process will be online and candidates need to register themselves on the official website in order to fill the application. The application process for NEET 2020 can be divided into four steps. For successful completion of the NEET 2020 application process, a candidate must complete the registration, fill the application, upload the required documents and remit the prescribed application fee. To help understand the process better, the steps have been elaborated below.

NEET question paper analysis

The exam analysis of NEET question paper 2019 will help the candidates get an idea of the difficulty level of the examination. With the help of this analysis, they can prepare well for the examination.

The question paper for NEET 2019 was of moderate difficulty level. Among the sections, biology was the easiest. The candidates who appeared for NEET 2019, found the Physics section lengthy and time-consuming.

NEET question paper 2019 Physics section

The physics section of NEET 2019 was the most difficult section. It comprised of 45 questions and was dominated by questions from mechanics. Electrodynamics, modern physics and electronics together comprised 40% of the Physics section.

NEET question paper 2019 Chemistry section

This section of the NEET question paper 2019 was dominated by NCERT based questions. The 45 questions that comprised this section had more theoretical questions this year. 60% of the total number of questions asked were easy and candidates could score well in this section.

NEET question paper 2019 Biology section

The biology section was the easiest section in the question paper of NEET 2019. 62% of the questions in this section were easy and 31% were of moderate level. Biology section of NEET question paper is a very important section because it has the maximum weightage. Thus, this section being easy could help candidates score well in the examination this year.

NEET 2018 Exam Analysis

NEET (UG) 2018 Exam Analysis by Career Point:

Physics

  • Physics paper was balanced. It covers almost all chapters.
  • 20 Questions from class 11th while 25 Questions from class 12th.
  • Most of the questions were average and from Career Point Class Notes and from Study Material.
  • Few Questions are simply Formula based.
  • Few Questions involve lengthy calculation which makes paper slightly difficult as compared to previous year question Paper.

Chemistry:

  • PHYSICAL:-Paper is calculative and comparatively harder than last year. One question from the mole concept was quiet hard and  Ionic equilibrium question was very lengthy
  • INORGANIC:-Inorganic section is average and from co-ordinate chemistry, 5 questions were asked. Overall easy than last year. None of the answers in one question from P-block chemistry was correct hence 4 marks must be awarded to all students in this question.
  • ORGANIC:-Paper is overall average and scoring. Most of the chemical reactions are mechanism-based nearly the same as that of last year. One question of –I Effect has two correct answers.

 Biology:

  • Question paper was well balanced covering almost all units of the prescribed syllabus.
  • Difficulty level was almost similar to last year, but questions were free from ambiguous options, this made the paper easier to solve for the candidate.
  • Out of 180 Questions 18 were easy, 60 Average and 12 Difficult.
  • Around 56%Questions were from 11th and 44% Questions from 12th class.
